Embedded Certificate in Canadian Studies
1. Program Information

For advising, students should consult the Department of History or a Program Advisor in the Arts Students’ Centre.

2. Program Requirements

Undergraduate students must successfully complete a minimum of 18 units covering a minimum of three different course labels while fulfilling the following requirements:

a) Core courses: 6 units: History 211 and 213

b) Electives: An additional 12 units chosen from the list of electives (a full, up-to-date list is maintained on the website of the Certificate in Canadian Studies (add URL once known) while fulfilling:

  • 6 units must be at the 300 or above
  • 3 units must be at the 400 level or above
  • A maximum of 3 units in courses labelled History

Many of the courses on the electives list have prerequisites and some may be in high demand. Registration in these courses is not assured. It is the student's responsibility to ensure that prerequisites are completed.
