About the Hunter Hub Solutions Lab
In celebration of Sustainability Week (happening October 24 – 28, 2022), the Hunter Hub for Entrepreneurial Thinking, in partnership with the Office of Sustainability, presents Hunter Hub Solutions Lab: Climate change solutions for Southern Alberta, students are challenged to develop an impactful and feasible project idea with clearly defined steps for implementation, that if executed would create climate change solutions for Southern Alberta. The challenge will conclude with students presenting their solutions in a five-minute pitch style format before a panel of judges.
Running from October 24 to November 29, 2022, students are to spend a maximum of 40 hours working on their solution and pitch. Students will work in teams of three to five people, with pitches no longer than five minutes. Participating students will be granted $525 through Experience Ventures in recognition of their participation in the challenge. The winning team will secure $1,000, while the first runner-up will secure $500 and the second runner-up will secure $250.
Students will leverage entrepreneurial thinking as they work with community members to develop potential solutions to address a question that will be revealed on the first day of the challenge.

Innovative individuals and teams who are eager to explore entrepreneurial thinking, build future ready skills they can bring into their respective careers, and expand on existing ideas are encouraged to apply for the program.
All components of this challenge will be presented virtually. Students are free to meet with their teams in person, while adhering to COVID-19 guidelines and safety measures should they wish to do so.
No. Participants are not able to register as a team.
The challenge will kick off with a keynote speaker who works in this space and students will be provided with additional information and resources to support their work. Each week of the challenge will provide an opportunity to attend a virtual session/workshop to support their progress and work.

Each team will be asked to submit a final project proposal that aligns with the scoring rubric. The submission will include a five minute video and 1 page project brief guidelines for which will be provided at the same time as a copy of the scoring rubric.
Winners will be selected by a panel of judges who will score student submissions against the evaluation criteria.
