Our inaugural Entrepreneurial Thinking Week features four unique events showcasing top innovators in social, tech and health innovation across all disciplines, alongside panel discussions with innovators and community leaders.

March 29: Map the System Challenge

We’re kicking off Entrepreneurial Thinking Week with Social Innovation Day.

Join us for the UCalgary Map the System Challenge showcase, where 33 students from seven faculties will apply systems thinking to solve problems and showcase their innovation for $5,000 in cash prizes! The winners will also have the opportunity to compete at the Canadian Map the System finals. Don’t miss the finale of this exciting global competition.

March 29: Experience Ventures National Hackathon Finale

Social Innovation Day continues with the Experience Ventures National Hackathon Finale.

As participants in the first-ever Experience Ventures National Hackathon program, over 150 Canadian students have been working alongside community innovators to develop breakthrough, wellness-focused solutions to enrich the lives of Canadian post-secondary students.

The final competition will feature the top three teams from 9 post-secondary institutions across Canada that will be invited to pitch their wellness solutions for cash prizes totaling $5,000.

March 30: Launchpad Liftoff Competition

Looking to start something? Check out Launchpad, UCalgary’s flagship six-month entrepreneurship program which culminates in the Launchpad Liftoff Competition featuring the top teams competing for $20,000 in prizes!

Through a series of free weekly presentations (Launchpad Live) open to all, the Launchpad teams have been working with coaches all year to refine and develop their social venture or startup. The Launchpad program culminates with the Launchpad Liftoff pitch competition at the end of the program, where the seven finalist teams will compete for over $20,000 in prizes to take their startup ideas to the next level.
