The Enrolment Services Exam Centre administers assessments for non-University of Calgary exam takers. We offer a welcoming, efficient and reliable exam writing experience for students who are taking courses domestically or internationally through a variety of institutions, businesses and professional organizations.

Types of hosted exams

We can host almost any exam you may need proctored. Some of the types of exams we host include:

  • Pre-admissions/entrance exams
  • Cambridge admissions testing
  • Post-secondary exams for distance learners, including Athabasca University, MacEwan University, and many others
  • University of London exams
  • Professional designation exams
  • Real Estate Council of Alberta exams
  • Certification exams, including for the University of Alberta's Continuing Dental Education program

Making a booking

For mailed exams:

We prefer at least 10 business days between submitting your booking form and the exam date. This allows enough time for your exam to arrive from your home institution. If you require an earlier booking and your exam can be express-mailed, we’ll try to accommodate your request.

For emailed/online exams:

We prefer at least five business days between submitting your booking form and the exam date. If you need an earlier booking, contact us and we’ll try to accommodate your request.

Note: Are you acting on behalf of an institution, business or professional organization? Please contact us directly to make exam writing arrangements for your students.

Booking availability

We are now open for in-person proctoring services, and look forward to hosting you soon!

Bookings are regularly available at these times:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (Morning or Afternoon)

If you are looking for another day or time, please email us at [email protected], and we will see what we can do to accommodate. Take care and stay well!

COVIDSafe Campus Protocols

We are following guidelines established by Alberta Health Services and the COVIDSafe Campus protocols.

Exam candidates are no longer required to show proof of vaccination or negative COVID test for entry to the external exam exam centre.  Mask wearing is supported but not required.

If you are ill or experiencing symptoms of any kind, please notify us and do not attend the exam. We will happily reschedule you in line with your institutional requirements.

All of our surfaces are cleaned thoroughly after use; your safety is of paramount importance.

What to bring

Please complete the AHS COVID-19 self-assessment before attending your exam.

You’ll need to show us a piece of valid government-issued photo ID upon arrival. Every exam is slightly different so it’s important to follow the regulations set out by your institution. Your instructor or organization should provide you with a list of permissible items.

In light of COVID-19, you are encouraged to bring as little as possible with you to your exam. Where materials are required, please try to bring your own (pencils, pens, etc).

Storing your belongings

We can provide you with a locker while you’re writing your exam. Cellphones, smart watches, and other non-permissible items must remain in the locker for the duration of the exam (or you can leave them at home).
