Who Gets One?

Student, Faculty, and Staff Cards

All students, faculty, and staff at the University of Calgary need a Unicard.

Students are eligible to receive a Unicard once they have registered for classes and have an eID. If you’re in a graduate program without coursework your registration needs to be initialized to get a Unicard.

Staff and Faculty become eligible on their first day of work.

Submit a photo online to have your Unicard printed for you ahead of arriving on campus.  If your work or studies require you to be on campus this fall, submit your photo now!

Unicards must be picked up in person, by the cardholder.

Guest Cards

The guest Unicard can be used as an on-campus debit card. The Unicard allows guests of the University of Calgary access to the same debit services as students, faculty, and staff while on campus. Whether it's for a meal or a snack, printing and photocopying services, or a purchase from the Bookstoreyou can use your guest Unicard.

Guests can purchase a card from the Unicard Reload Stations in the Taylor Family Digital Library or HSC. Guest cards cost $1 and can be loaded after purchase.

When you purchase your card you agree the conditions stated in the Guest Unicard Agreement. Keep your guest card - even if you are only on campus for a short amount of time, your card will remain active for your next visit.

*These stations accept Canadian $5, $10, and $20 bills and $1 and $2 coins.
