Have an interest in learning more about working out? Want to meet new people at UCalgary with similar goals and interests? IGNITE buddies you with another undergraduate student to provide free personal training sessions, as well as the opportunity to learn more about nutrition and mindfulness.
The Ignite Program
IGNITE will be running for both the fall 2022 and winter 2023 semesters, with new participants each semester. Over the course of seven weeks, Participants in IGNITE will be buddied with another undergraduate student and get the opportunity to have three free personal training sessions with them, as well as a free fitness class and workshops on nutrition and mindfulness.
Participants must attend an initial orientation meeting, and all personal training sessions are mandatory (personal training times to be determined with your buddy after program acceptance and buddy matching).
Applications for fall 2022 will close Sept. 25, 2022. Participants selected will be emailed by the program coordinator by Sept. 30, 2022. To apply for IGNITE, please use the link below.

FAQ
No, IGNITE is sponsored by SU Quality money and is free for undergraduate students from the University of Calgary.
No! Any level of experience is welcomed. We will determine on your application your level of experience which will help us to pair you with your buddy.
For personal training, it will just be you, the trainer, and your selected buddy. For the fitness class and other workshops, the group will be larger.
A buddy will be another student that you are matched with for the program. Matching will be done by the program coordinator utilizing questions on the application.
The time for personal training will be established between you, your buddy, and the personal trainer. We will do our best to match you with someone that has similar availability.
The mandatory orientation meeting with be on Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. The fitness class and workshops will be held in the evenings, days and times to be determined.
Thanks to Quality Money (2019), participants have the option of personal training once per week.
