Move-in will begin on Sunday, August 28, 2022. Make sure to check out the move-in email for all information on how to select your move-in date/time as well as all information you will need prior to moving in.

 

We are so excited to welcome you to campus this fall! Moving into Residence is an amazing place to make connections in your building, floor and within the Residence community.

We have a week packed with events to help you get started on your journey.

We anticipate having large attendance at Residence Welcome Week events and encourage you to RSVP to all the events you plan on attending. This is not a requirement.

Consent and Healthy Relationship Trivia
Date: Aug. 29 | 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Residence Dodgeball Championships

Dinos Football Kickoff
Date: Sept. 2 | 5:30 p.m.

Location: McMahon Stadium

Walk over to the stadium with your CA to attend one of UCalgary’s biggest sporting event.

Residence Resource Fair
Date: Sept. 3 | 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Evening Skate

Location: Olympic Oval

Experience a fun night of skating in the Olympic Oval, widely known as The Fastest Ice in the World.

Calgary Stampeders vs. Edmonton Elks (Labour Day Classic)
Date: Sept. 5 | 2:30 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Location: McMahon Stadium

First 200 tickets are free! Pick up your ticket for the most anticipated game of the year—the Battle of Alberta Labour Day Classic! Tickets will be available under the tent at the NW end of the stadium for Residence students. All you need is your student ID card. If tickets run out, you can purchase tickets for $15 using the QR code provided at the tent.


Winter, Spring/Summer and Family Housing Move-ins

Three easy steps to moving in to Residence:

  1. Pick up your move-in package
    Pick up your move-in package and room keys at the Campus Service Centre located in International House. Photo ID is required. Temporary parking is available in the loop in front of the building.

  2. Move into your new home
    Moving carts are available at the Campus Service Centre to help you.
  3. Get to know your new neighbours

Residents can move into Varsity Courts on the first day of the first tenancy month. All documentation must be complete before keys will be issued.

1. Sign tenancy agreement

2. Provide proof of tenancy insurance in good order

3. Provide proof of marriage or common-law status in good order (if applicable)

4. Pay fees

5. Move-in inspection

Move-in During School Year

If you are moving into residence outside of the main fall move-in dates, you will need to check-in at the Campus Service Centre during office hours. If you are arriving outside of office hours, please contact the Campus Service Centre to see if there is availability for after hours check-in.

Make sure that the Campus Service Centre is aware of your move-in date, so they are able to check you in properly. To make your check-in smooth:

  • Make sure you have signed your Residence Agreement, through your Resident Portal. 
  • You have photo ID

Once you have moved in, make sure to read the Now What Guide, to help you figure out your new home.
