Students, academics and staff who make up our community.
Our students are some of the most curious, inquisitive and civic-minded on the planet. They come from across Alberta and Canada and from around the world, building a diverse campus community that helps make Calgary the special place it is.
As we strive to become one of Canada’s top learning and research universities, we seek to attract the most talented, skilled academic staff we can find and to create an environment where they can experiment and succeed, guide students to reach their full academic potential, and lead ground-breaking research.
Do world-changing work as you help translate research discoveries into applications that provide benefits to society worldwide. We have a strong, focused research agenda and welcome colleagues from across the globe.
Working at UCalgary means being immersed in learning and youthful optimism, and making a real difference in the lives of others each day. From research assistants to student advisors, groundskeepers to directors, administrators to development officers — they’re all critical to the success of our university.
More than 163,000 UCalgary alumni contribute to their communities in more than 150 countries. Every year, about 6,000 more new graduates join this extended family of changemakers, actively building our city (two-thirds of our alumni stay in the Calgary area) and shaping our society worldwide.
The Board of Governors is responsible for the stewardship of the University on behalf of the people of Alberta. Board members serve as governors/trustees. The composition of the Board is mandated by Alberta's Post-Secondary Learning Act. Members are appointed by Order in Council or Ministerial Order.
Senators are volunteers who are passionate about education, research and innovation – active ambassadors who are eager to share the pivotal role the University of Calgary plays within our vibrant city. Each fall, we recruit for open Senate positions.
Tens of thousands of people and organizations support the University of Calgary with their time, talent and treasure. They enable transformative change and allow our academics to focus on the work at hand: delivering the best-possible education for our students and making discoveries that will change all of our lives for the better.
