Finding a Roommate

You can request roommates on your application in the Roommate Preferences section. To be placed with a roommate, both students must mutually request each other on the application. 

Search for roommates by details: enter your friend's screen name to find them in the system and make the request.

Browse for matching roommates: complete the Personal Details questionnaire and the system will present profiles the most closely match yours. Choose someone and they will receive an email asking if they would like to accept your request.

First Year Single Rooms

If you request a single room as your first preference, your name will be entered to a lottery for one of the available rooms. If you do not receive a single room in the draw, your name will be added to a wait list based on the lottery. We will work through the wait list throughout the summer as spaces become available. We do not guarantee that those on the wait list will receive a single room. 

Apartments and Suites

Second year, upper year and graduate students can choose their building and room online when applying for either the academic or fall term. You will be sent a time slot (a specific date and time) in your Offer of Residence. On that date, you will have access to select your room in the Resident Portal. Spring/Summer and Winter Terms

There are a limited number of units available during these terms, therefore, room selection is not offered. On the application, applicants will be able to select their preferred room types and buildings. Apartments are assigned to on a first-come, first-served basis. The specific room availability will be included in your Offer of Residence.

Family Housing Townhouses

Townhouses are assigned to applicants on a first-come, first-served basis. There is currently a wait list. Applications are added to the wait list according to the date and time they were received. Wait times vary depending on availability and applicants’ preferred move-in dates. When a townhouse is available, the Family Housing Office will contact you, usually about one month in advance.
