Our Student Life programs foster a sense of community and connectedness with drop-in programming from the weekly meet-up style Unwind events, to Last Lecture series, Meet-Up and the end-of-year UCalgaryStrong Festival.

Unwind Events

Offering students the chance to get together and find a community on campus, Unwind presents various social opportunities on campus that you can drop into whenever you have time. Whether through board games, open mic events, or movie screenings, it’s important that everyone find time to Unwind.

Last Lecture Series

Modeled after the well-known concept and book “The Last Lecture” by Andy Pausch; faculty are invited to speak about any inspired topic or idea they wish. We want to bring the learning out of the classroom and into student space, connecting students and faculty in an intimate setting where they have the opportunity to engage in dialogue and learn from the faculty they so greatly respect.

The annual UCalgaryStrong Festival is a celebration of celebrates resilience, leadership and well-being on the last day of classes. Connect with your campus community through a variety of activities; including an artisan market, community café, student performances, sports, games, food trucks and more.

UCalgaryStrong Carnival is a fun and exciting way to celebrate the campus community during Orientation Week. Festivities include carnival and arcade games, face painting, caricature artists, puzzles, and teambuilding activities.
