Emerging Leaders
Our offering for emerging leaders is continually evolving to meet individual and organizational needs. Emerging leaders are faculty members who are currently in leadership roles (informal or formal) and those who are preparing for leadership in the future.
Audience:
All full time academic staff interested in leadership; may be in a formal or informal academic leadership or is preparing for future leadership opportunities. One offering of this program is through nomination from Deans; the other is an open program available to all full time academics.
Format of Program:
In person, facilitated sessions with up to 25 participants (six 2.5 hour workshops)
Frequency of offering:
Two programs during the year (depending upon demand)
Completion Requirement:
Participation in all workshops in series

About this Program:
This program has been specifically designed for University of Calgary academic staff and is designed for emerging leaders who are interested in developing their leadership skills in an academic setting with colleagues from other faculties across campus.

About this Program:
Immensely practical and hands-on, The Leadership Challenge is designed to inspire, engage and help emerging and experienced leaders develop the leadership skills needed to meet their unique leadership challenges.
This one-day workshop is based upon a certified program created by James Kouzes and Barry Posner, globally acclaimed researchers and authors of best-selling book, The Leadership Challenge. It is based upon almost 30 years of original research and data from over three million leaders from around the world. This program has been customized for the academic leadership environment and will include extensive opportunities for peer-to-peer discussion.
