UCalgary Senate
The Senate is an independent body of diverse community leaders and university representatives who are strong ambassadors for UCalgary. It is valued for the role it plays in promoting our reputation and priorities.
Leadership and Student Engagement
We want our students to feel inspired, engaged and empowered to act within the community. Whether a seasoned volunteer or looking to get involved, we offer opportunities from one day service projects in Calgary to intensive explorations of social issues through ucalgarycares.
Continuing Education
Through Continuing Education, we provide high-quality educational opportunities to lifelong learners — each year serving more than 20,000 adult learners and offering more than one thousand courses taught by hundreds of instructors — all experts in their fields.
Indigenous Engagement
Because education played a fundamental part in the implementation of the destructive assimilation policies of the past, UCalgary is dedicated to its moral and ethical obligation to walk the path towards reconciliation
Participate in research
Our scholars conduct research studies and clinical trials in a vast range of disciplines, from MRIs to understand childhood brain development, to online surveys that help us understand how people interact on social media. And we need your help to do it.
Events
Our events range from dance, music and theatre performances by our students to presentations of research findings that have a direct impact on our community. The majority of our events are open to the public.
Libraries and Cultural Resources
Seven library branches with meeting rooms (including the new Taylor Family Digital Library), two galleries, a makerspace, online archives, and the University of Calgary Press are accessible to the public through different programs.
Active Living
Through our Active Living program, the Faculty of Kinesiology offers programs, services and facilities that promote healthy, active lifestyles for children, youth and adults. Programs range from gymnastics and skating to weight loss and lifestyle change.
Outdoor Centre
The Calgary Outdoor Centre is the largest outdoor program and equipment rental centre of its kind in North America, offering an exciting menu of outdoor focused courses, trips and kids camps throughout the year.
Summer camps
We offer more than 70 diverse and unique programs designed with your kids in mind. From sports to science, the arts to the great outdoors, we have a summer camp for everyone. Our summer camps are the perfect way to introduce your child to the university experience. From varsity coaches to student teachers, our instructors love what they do.
Dinos Athletics
There is no better way to feel UCalgary’s proud history than to join students, alumni and neighbours in the stands, cheering the Dinos to victory. Dinos Athletics belongs to everyone and we encourage you to enjoy the experience.
Olympic Oval
Home to the fastest ice in the world, the Olympic Oval at UCalgary is a world-class speed skating and high-performance sport facility that is open to both elite athletes and the general public.
Rothney Astrophysical Observatory
As one of the principal research facilities within the Department of Physics and Astronomy, the RAO is one of Canada's best-equipped astronomical teaching facilities, providing university students with the opportunity to use research-grade telescopes.
University Of Calgary Bookstore
More than just textbooks, the main bookstore carries one of Calgary's largest selections of general reading books, and can special order any book still in print. This is also where you can find UCalgary and Dinos clothing and souvenirs and a wide selection of stationery and art supplies.

University of Calgary Retirees Association (UCRA)
The University of Calgary Retirees Association (UCRA) enables retired staff to contribute to the life of the university and society through an active focus on history, experience and expertise.
