As your student prepares to apply for university, here are a number of helpful resources you can use to support them with their application.
Submitting the online application
The University of Calgary will accept applications for admission for the fall 2022 intake from October 1, 2021 to March 1, 2022.
Degree Profiles
Encourage your student to visit our Degree Profile resource to find clarity and gain confidence on their career path. These profiles look at potential jobs, key skills and attributes, as well as associations and professional development as they relate to each degree and potential career path.
UCalgary’s Career Wheel
Is your student looking for some guidance on their career development? The career wheel is an excellent place for them to start their planning and review the common stages of the career development process.

In accordance with Alberta’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP), UCalgary is unable to share information about a student or applicant to a third-party (including family members) without the explicit consent of a student or applicant. We would encourage you to have your student connect with us directly and we will be happy to support them with UCalgary’s application.

Cost and funding
There are a variety of sources to help cover the costs of attending university. These could include scholarships and bursaries, student loans, savings and income from a part-time job.
Calgary, the Innovation Capital of Canada
Home to 1.4 million people, Calgary (or Moh’kins’tsis as it's known in traditional Blackfoot), is Canada's youngest and third-most diverse city. Living on campus
Your student can live, learn and grow alongside their peers, while creating strong and lasting friendships. From shared dorm-style rooms in first year, to full apartments in upper years and graduate school, to family housing, there are options available for all students.
Each building has a residence life coordinator who provides continuous support. Residence life coordinators foster and promote inclusive living environments, organize events and help students with everything from homesickness to health and academics.
